A long time ago and a galaxy not so far away…

Back in days of boom-boxes, Reganomics and Transformers, there was the Apple II, I wrote a very simple program in Apple Basic called Walking Stick. While it was a very simple idea, (push the stick from one end of the screen to the next and hit your fire button to engage certain objects), it allowed me to create a vast world to play in graphically.

Sadly the code is nowhere to be found (darn my need to overwrite stuff due to lack of space on a 5′25″ floppy), but the memory and images of the game have remained. For many years I have wanted to recreate this but have neither had the time nor the ability.

Jump to 2010 and thanks to Power Game Factory form Sawblade Software, Walking Stick is reborn! Graphically designed in the old Apple II style this is made to be look like of all those great Apple II games we played for hours as kids. The goal here was to create “now” what I would have wanted to make back in 1986. This is an attempt to make a childhood vision come to life.

So please feel free to download this Mac Game (sorry Windows users) and test out version 1. This is just the beginning stages as I plan to keep this as an ongoing project. More levels to come soon!
