Speed Racer: The next step up in Movie Entertainment!

Speed Racer will probably be regarded in many years to come as a cult classic. I can see this as being considered what we now consider 2001: A Space Odyssey to be, a masterpiece!

How do you take a very badly animated cartoon and make it a movie? The Wachowski Brothers had a lot of live up to.  There are several ways this movie could be taken, completely comical and off the way or completely serious. Both of this approaches would have completely ruined what turned out to be a fantastic work of modern art.

Journey's Best Album

Been wanting to write about this one for a while but just haven't gotten around to it.

Figures that after a bit of turmoil of firing lead singer Steve Perry Journey actually produced probably their best album to date and something that could compete in this era of modern music. The last album with lead-singer Steve Augeri was probably their best with him to date, and sadly Steve was left go after having voice problems during their 2004 tour. (For more of this drama just visit the Journey Wikipedia, although note I hate wikipedia for several reasons, long story...).

Gravity: Revisited!

Last October I wrote about an amazing band I saw open for Dream Theater, called Gravity. A quartet of kids producing some truly amazing stuff. Recently Gravity released their first full length CD featuring 12 amazing, ground breaking songs!

Genesis, Awesome as they should be!

I am still kicking myself in the butt for missing Genesis’s last tour in 1992. But when Phil announced he was leaving the group in 1994, combined with the failed 1998 American tour with Ray Wilson as lead vocalist, I thought I’d never see them live… ever.

Holy Crap Gravity is Unbelievable!

GravityVery few times do I get excited about something new, and even fewer times do I feel like I get in; liking something that is popular at the ground level. The last time I jumped on the 'cool train' was with Southpark, and that lasted till the bastards made fun of my man Phil Collins.
